About

Spaceimagesonline.com

In 1995, I created a site intended to be a resource for a NASA eduction program. The original page was designed to fill a need for a group of education specialists who were looking for just the right space pictures to use in presentations. The site became popular among teachers, students and space fans as well and evolved to fit the audience. Along the way, it received awards and positive reviews from web watchers, net magazines and educators.

For various reasons, the Space Image Libraries site had to be discontinued even though interest in space-related imagery remains high. Students and teachers search the web daily for pictures to put in classroom presentations and reports. Space enthusiasts comb the web in search of the latest breathtaking view from Hubble or one of our deep space probes. While NASA has beenĀ  making their online content more accessible, navigating the hundreds of thousands of pages of material to find just the right picture remains a challenge. And there a great body of material from international partners, commercial endeavors, observatories and amateur photographers and astronomers that will never find its way into NASA.gov. My goal in re-creating this resource is to help you navigate the latest and greatest in space images and to find the gems tucked into the dusty corners of the Web. Thank you for visiting.
